This Week's Queen of the Week is Miss Mississippi USA 2008!

1. What are your goals as Miss Mississippi USA 2008?
I have many goals and many I have already reached! One goal was to be an influence in young girls lives. I have helped to start a 4H program for girls which teaches them self-confidence, healthy habits, and modeling. The girls have so much fun and it is amazing to see how well they accept everything we teach them. Another goal I have set is to do my best at Miss USA (of course!). Mississippi does not place very often at Miss USA, or has ever won. The last woman that placed was in 2005 and I can not even remember the one before that!! It would be amazing to bring back the title to Mississippi!

2. What are your hobbies when you are not busy with your reign as Miss Mississippi USA 2008?
Oh gosh, I have SO many other things going on! I have a part-time job at Pageant Complete which is pretty much my second home! I am there more than I am at my house! I am also involved in a performing group at my college, Jones OnStage, which also involves many practices during the week. Also at my college, I am involved in College Republicans and Bobcat Brigade, a recruitment and advertising organization. And we can't forget school! My life keeps me busy but I wouldn't want it any other way!

3. What are you dreams after your reign?
Before winning this title, my plans were to graduate from the college I attend now, and transfer to the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss- Hotty Toddy!!). After graduating with a degree in English Education, I hoped to go back to my home high school and teach A.P. English to high schoolers. BUT- even though I still plan to graduate and become a teacher one day, I have learned that there are so many other opportunities out there for me. I am planning on trying out for the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders after I graduate from college. Then whether that goes as planned or not, after I finish that I hope to move to Los Angeles to pursue acting. I love to perform! That is truly my passion. There are so many opportunties out there, I just plan to chase them!

4. What message would you send out to young girls who dream of being a beauty queen?
I would say to have dreams and dream big. Before winning my title of Miss Mississippi USA, I didn't really understand what I could be capable of. This pageant has opened my eyes to so many opportunities I did not even know existed! To every young girl, I say DREAM! That sounds so cliche, but it's cliche because it is so true. Be yourself, have fun, put forth the effort, and there's no telling where you could end up... Miss Universe!

5.What got you started in beauty pageants?
The first pageant I was in was in first grade! I have been competing ever since then! As I said earlier, I love to perform and love being on stage. It is such an adrenaline rush! When I started working at Pageant Complete, I learned more about larger pageants. I competed in some local pageants and placed in all of them. Then, my senior year in high school I heard something about a Miss Mississippi Teen USA Pageant. I entered on a whim and fell in love with it! I got first alternate and knew I had to come back! I took a year off and came back as a Miss, and here I am! My mom never pressured me to enter pageants which came as a blessing because they were fun and did not become a job. My start in pageants just came from a love of competition and performing!

1. What has been the best experience so far in your reign?

Working with the Virginia Best Buddies Program has been the most humbling and rewarding part of my reign. I work with these kids who only see the good in people even when people judge them. They work hard even though the world tells them they will never succceed, and to me they are just simply amazing kids. No matter what happens at Miss USA I can honestly say my year was complete the day these amazing children walked into my life.

2. I know that you were Miss Teen Virginia USA 2005 what advice do you offer to your sister queen since you have already been in her shoes?

First of all Megan is INCREDIBLE...she will win Miss Teen USA mark my word, and when she does remember you heard it hear first!! However, If I could give her advice it would be to enjoy the journey everyday. Whether you are at an apperance or simply going to school you have 365 days to be Miss Virginia Teen USA...soak it up!! Don't listen to everybody pulling you in 20 different directions,listen to what people have to say, take it into consideration, but ultimately remember its YOUR year! I have met a lot of people, and I tell you Megan has that spark that girls look forever to find she will be hard to beat!

3.What are you dreams once your year as a queen is over?

A year ago if you told me I would have filmed two shows with MTV and been Miss Virginia USA I would have laughed, so for me to even try and begin to plan the next year of my life is close to impossible. However, I know I want to finish my education with a Marketing degree and wether I work for Donald Trump as Miss USA or in one of his big companies, I plan on working for his one day! The sky is the limit and I know God has an amazing plan for my life and we will see where he takes me.

4.What are your hobbies when you are not taking part in your duties as Miss Virgina USA?

Skating,Skating and More Skating...I LOVE TO SKATE! I was introduced to the skate park on my season of road rules where I was scared out of my mine! Once I realized that skating is a way for me to go into my own zone I fell in love with it. I could skate for hours and never get bored! No matter how stressed I am or how busy life gets..I will always make time to skate.

5. What did you learn about yourself after being on Road Rules Challenge?

I could list 7,000 things I learned about myself on Road rules, but obviously we don't have all day. I learned that although I thought I knew who I was, when people test you and you go out of your comfort zone that is when you really learn! I was very naive..looking back on the first day I stepped into that RV I have no idea who that girl is anymore. I learned very quick that you have to have tough skin, because this world will knock you flat on your butt the first chance they get. I also learned there is a difference between having tough skin and being negative. When I was on road rules I started to hate everything around me,because it was hard to stay positive in such a tense enviroment. I grew as a person not only physically but mentally. I know that no matter how tough things get the most important thing to do is stay positive and strong and give to God. I learned I am not perfect by any standards nor do I try to be, however this world will try and hold you to a perfect standard so you have to find the right balance. There are many more but we don't have all day...
If you want to get a glimpse of what its like take 6 strangers off the street and lock yourself with them in your kitchen. Now turn all the lights on and the oven( that way you get the full affect of how hot it will get in that room). Keep in mind you can never turn the lights off even when you want to go to sleep.Stay in there for four and a half months sharing one phone,one computer,and one bathroom NO TV. Only 4 of you will win a car and 20,000 dollars so you have to find a way to get the other three people to leave. While this is going on you will have cameras on you at all times never missing a second. Then after those 15 weeks are over they will take all the hours of footage and make 15 episodes that are 22 minute long. Needless to say the people outside that kitchen will never fully understand everything that went on in the kitchen. Nor will they understand why people act the way they do, they wont get to experience all the funny moments or sad moments they will only get to experience what the editors let them experience. When I am explaining the show I try and put into a common perspective so that people understand simply that its a TV show and what you see is a glimpse of what went on, but not nearly the full story!!!

This Weeks Queen of the Week is Miss Florida USA 2008!

1.What is your most embarrassing moment?
My most embarrassing moment was in high school. I was captain of the dance team and we always had practice in the gym right after the basketball team finished their practice. A couple of the girls and I got to the gym early during the basketball team practice just to start setting up for ours. As the girls and I were walking along side the basketball court, my clutsy self accidentally steps on the bottom of my sweatpants, causing me to fall completely forward. That would have been all fine and dandy if only I had not had one foot on the bottom of the pant of my other leg. So naturally when I bent down to fall, my pants came down too. All I could do was bolt towards the locker room NEVER looking back. Yes its true, I mooned my basketball team.

2.What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

A year and a half ago, I NEVER thought I would be competing in any pageant, let alone compete in Miss USA. My accomplishment of going from Miss Volusia County USA to Miss Florida USA was and still is a complete shock to me!!! I didn't work all my life for this particular moment, but for some reason it was meant for me this year. I'm looking at my current situation as a blessing and a lifetime experience and I'm going to give and take as much as I can from it all. As far as Miss USA goes, would I like to win? YES! Would I be crushed if I don't? No. The right girl will be crowned and I'm going to do my absolute best with what I have at hand.

3.What have you learned about yourself since holding your title?
I've learned that I work well under pressure and I adapt to new situations easily. Anything I do in life, I always try going into it with a strong heart and a positive attitude. Being positive makes you that much easier to work with and makes things easier for you even if it is a high stress situation.

4.What are your goals as Miss Florida USA 2008?
Meeting as many people as possible!!! Making appearances and meeting people is AWESOME because people love that you want to help and it feels so good to know that your presence can make such a huge difference. More specifically, my goal is to work with minorities and underpriviledged children. Our children today are our leaders tomorrow. I think its so important to focus on providing them with the right tools to further their lives and attain leadership skills. Not only that, but its also important to let them know they are loved! I'm a girl with a huge heart so I've got lots of love to give!! :-)

5.What made you interested in pageants?
Several of my friends were competing in a local prelim and they convinced me to compete as well. I knew it would be a great experience and could open up several doors for me, so I figured there would be no harm in trying. Boy was that a good decision hehe ;-)
